    • This is definitely one of the most stunning herons we have on earth. He (it was a male) was hidden in the mangrove roots and we had to turn off the boat, glide toward the roots, and scrunch down on the floor of the boat as the roots scraped over the top of the boat. So very glad, dear Doda, that you enjoyed today’s post. I feel very lucky to have your warm attention. πŸ˜€

    • Yes, it is a very special heron, I am glad you enjoyed it, dear Nan. We were in a boat on a river in Belize, and he was deeply hidden in the mangrove roots. Thanks so much, as always, for your kind and loving visits. πŸ˜€

    • Acrobatics were involved in this photo, Frank. We had to turn the boat motor off, drift for a long time to not spook the heron, and then crouch below the surface of the boat so the back of the boat could drift directly into the mangrove roots. So glad you enjoyed Athena’s photo. πŸ˜€
